Dr. Karen S. Neat is a graduate of Baylor College of Dentistry with a Dental Hygiene degree, a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree and a Masters of Science in Dentistry. This means that she is a dental specialist who has completed two years of specialty training in Orthodontics in addition to four years of dental studies and two years in Hygiene school. She is Board Certified and a member of the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO), Texas Dental Association, Southwest Society of Orthodontists and several other professional clubs and organizations. She attends many organizational meetings and training opportunities to utilize current technological advancements.

She and her husband Pat are long-time residents and supporters of Allen and have raised four wonderful children. They have one granddaughter. As a long-time resident and businesswoman in Allen, she has watched many changes take place in this growing community & surrounding towns. Many of the smiles seen around town have taken shape in her office.

Our staff works together as a team, each carrying out our individual roles while simultaneously supporting the others' efforts. (Plus, we've worked together for years and have no plans to go elsewhere.) Countless hours have been dedicated to Continuing Education keeping up-to-date on new techniques & products to provide state-of-the-art treatment for our patients. Each clinical assistant is a Registered Dental Assistant having completed & maintained certificates in Radiology, Infection Control, Jurisprudence and CPR.

AMANDA A friendly North Texas girl, Amanda has been with Dr. Neat since August 2006 and has been in the orthodontic field for over 20 years. She mainly works the front desk for us but you may see her working on patients when we are in need of her help. We call her multi-talented. Amanda lives in McKinney with her husband David and their 3 sons. She is also attending Collin County Community College part-time and is working towards becoming a dental
hygienist.

BARB With 23 years in ortho/health science field, Barb holds down the
frontlines wonderfully with a smiling face, quick wit and assuring tone. She
handles scheduling, financial and insurance. Barb and her husband Terry have
been married 36 years. They have seen their three "Texas born, Texas bred,
When I die I'll be Texas dead" children through the Plano ISD & college.
Currently their daughter is studying Dentistry at the University of Texas
Dental School in San Antonio. Barb has 2 cats and a dog. She loves to read,
play trivia games and we don’t call her the Garage Sale Queen for nothing!

DEBBIE is a long-time assistant joining Dr. Neat in 1994 and she began her career in orthodontics in 1974 at Texas Tech in the dental assisting program. She and her husband Cary have two daughters and live in Plano. They share their home with two dogs and 1 cat. In her free time she enjoys golf (her mother was a founding member of the LPGA), swimming, cooking & walking the dogs. She coordinates the lab as well as keeping the operatory running smooth.

EMILY grew up in Ennis, TX and joined Dr. Neat's staff in 2007. She is working
as a chairside assistant and is trained as a dental assistant working for both
a dentist and an orthodontist. She currently lives in Plano with puppy Hannah.

MESA hails from East Texas where she began her career in ortho in 1987 and
joined Dr. Neat’s staff in 2000. She brings with her a quick sense of humor to
keep us in stitches. Her rapport with patients instantly puts them at ease as
she guides them through their orthodontic experience. She assists chair side
as well as monitors, updates & maintains all OSHA standards for our office. In
addition to her many daily duties she organizes emergency & safety training
sessions. She and her husband David live in Murphy with their daughter. Mesa
enjoys traveling wirh her daughter to Cheer competitions, swimming and
gardening.

MICHELLE Growing up in North Texas makes her a very friendly Southern girl and being a treatment coordinator gives her the opportunity to get to know so many people. She balances her time between being a treatment and marketing coordinator. She enjoys consulting with our patients and helping them to attain that beautiful confident smile, as well as organizing fun office functions. She joined Dr. Neat’s staff in 1998 and enjoys time with her husband and their five quickly maturing children that are leaving the nest one by one. Their life is full of animals with a horse, two dogs, two cockatoos & one lonely fish…

SANDY is another East Texas girl. She began her career in orthodontics in 1979 and has been with Dr. Neat since 1994. Working directly with and helping people is something she enjoys. Sandy and her husband of 24 years, Marvin, make their home in McKinney and have two sons. To relax, she enjoys reading, gardening, cooking and spending time with family & friends.

THERESA is a Wonder Woman in scrubs and hails from a wonderful Lucas family that has a long history with Dr. Neat’s practice that spans treatment times for five members of the family. She is a former patient that assumed her older sister’s job position in our office when her sister left for college. Theresa is currently working chairside as well as sterilization technician while she attends the Dental Hygiene program at Collin County Community College.
